Pray About Everything
Prayer is our personal communication with God. I’ve seen a lot of things online lately that say, “Some of y’all would have prayed for Goliath instead of….” you get the point. Every time I read it something doesn’t sit right within me.
That’s because every single thing we do should be sought in prayer before we make a move. Our feelings can trick us into thinking God wants us to do things when it’s really our own fleshly desires.
We make finger pointing facebook posts and claim it’s in the name of the Lord. We even manipulate bits and pieces of scripture to excuse the ugly and judgemental things we say and do.
It’s Vital
Praying, seeking God before we say or do anything is vital. Do you need to have a serious conversation with your spouse, your kids or anyone else? Pray first. God can give you the proper words and help you recognize the right time and He can also prepare that person to receive the right words.
Are you angry or upset because people aren’t doing what you believe they should be doing? Don’t post it on social media or use whatever other platform you have access to try and shame them into doing it. Get in a prayer closet and ask God to step in. Ask Him to open their spiritual eyes. If we really loved our neighbor the way God tells us to we would use love instead of shame.
Demonic Spirits
Only the Holy Ghost has the power to convict someone. Oftentimes we call people and situations out, but the thing is if, and that’s a big if, they actually do what you are trying to guilt them of, it will only be temporary. Guilt is a manipulation tactic & is a characteristic of a demonic spirit we often classify as Jezebel.
Wouldn’t prayer be a more effective tool?
Philippians 4:6, Romans 8:26, James 5:16
**Lord, thank You for helping me to see how easily we can allow our own personal feelings to manipulate us into thinking we are doing God’s work. Similar to when Paul was killing Christians. I ask that you open my eyes to anything I am doing that is not of You. I want what You want Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
