Want To Be Successful?
Joshua 1:8-9 New King James Version
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
God Sees
Joshua 1:9 has always been one of my favorite scriptures. When I began my walk with the Lord He gave me this particular scripture. At the time I did not know what was about to happen in my family. Our entire lives were about to explode into pieces. I couldn’t see it but God did. He was mentally and spiritually preparing me by letting me know right away to not be afraid because He was with me no matter what.
Throughout the trial our family faced this scripture came back to me over and over again and has been embedded into my heart and my mind. For that I am so thankful.
Living Word
However God’s word is a living word that flows! While verse 9 was an encouraging reminder and still continues to be, as I began to read this chapter today my eyes were opened to something new. I love how God speaks to us through His word in so many different ways!
Are You Searching
Everyone is searching for that one thing that will make us prosperous and successful in life. We search the world for love and money, but God’s word gives you the key to what you are looking for.
Here’s The Answer
The answer is God. To not only read but meditate on His word. Keep it in your mind and in your thoughts and speak it out loud. To be prosperous and successful in life you must do what the word says. Not just the parts that seem easy but all of it.
There is a song that says, “I’ve searched the world, but it couldn’t fill me… there’s nothing better than You”. This is true. We will waste the majority of our lives looking to fill a space within us that we believe is the missing piece to give us everything we’ve ever wanted, but we fail to realize it’s been freely available to us all along. God. His love. His word. His spirit living within us. That is what we need. That is what may be missing and that is what will make us prosperous and successful in life.
Matthew 6:33, Colossians 3:2, Hebrews 4:12
**Lord thank You for giving me everything I will ever need in this life. Help me to recognize that it’s not more money or nicer things that make me successful but to have You and all that goes along with You in my life Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
