Who’s The Favorite?

Who’s The Favorite?

Romans 12:3-6 New King James Version

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

Humility

No matter what I study in God’s word it seems that everything includes humility. Yes, love is number one, but I believe humility is a close second. Why? Because being humble will affect how we treat others and our attitude about ourselves.

When we are humble we treat others with respect. No matter who they are, where they are from, their age, or what they do or do not do we show them love and kindness even when correction is involved.

We have a realistic view of who we are in Christ when choosing to be humble is important to us. Which means we realize that everyone matters because God doesn’t choose favorites and neither should we. Sure there might be certain people we have more in common with so we naturally spend more time with them.

We Are All Gifted

God has given each of us gifts and talents to use for His Kingdom and that looks different for everyone. Now you may have the same gift as someone else but that doesn’t mean you were created to do it the exact same way they were. Mentors are important but never compare yourself to someone else in any way, good or bad. God created you for a specific purpose just as He did others and we are all meant to reach different types of people.

Embrace the uniqueness of others. Seek to be understanding when you encounter those who may be difficult. Everyone has a purpose. We are all made in His image, but we are all very different.

Romans 2:11, Philippians 2:3, Ephesians chapter 4

**Lord, help me to remember that You don’t choose favorites. You love all of us the same no matter where we came from or who we are. Thank You! In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
