What do you want?
Matthew 7:7-8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
We ask God for a lot of things. Our family to be safe and healthy. Ministries to grow, and lost loved ones to be saved. We even ask for things like help in our finances and favor in situations.
What’s Your Part?
Do you ever wonder what your part is in all of those things? I know there are times when we have to step back and let God do what only He can. In those times our actions can be more of a hindrance, a setback, than anything else, but what about when you know He is asking You to do something, or you know what His word says you should be doing?
When we want a cake we can’t just set a box of cake mix or a bag of flour on the stove and pray for God to give us a cake. We have to take everything He has given us, mix it together and put it in a little heat to get that sweet fluffy cake.
To put it in better terms we can’t be stubborn, prideful and lazy, and then expect God to do everything for us. We are partners. He won’t do what He’s told us to do, and we can’t do what only He can do!
Listen
So, what is He telling you to do today? Do you need to change some attitudes? Do you have some things in your life you need to get cleaned up?
We need to remember that a lot of times we need to be properly prepared to receive the answer to our prayers otherwise we will just make things worse than they were to start with.
What do you need to change today?
Proverbs 3:5-6, Philippians 2:14, Luke 9:23
**Lord thank You for loving me and wanting good things for me. Please forgive me for not listening to You and Your Word. I ask that You reveal to me any areas I need to work on. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
