What About You?

What About You?

Romans 12:3 New King James Version

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

What About You?

What do you think of yourself? I have read this scripture many, many times and until today I’ve only ever thought one way about it. Which is to not think more highly of myself than I ought to. To live and act with humility knowing that God loves others just as much as He loves me and He doesn’t pick favorites. To remember that If He does something for me, He will do it for others as well.

Think Soberly

What I didn’t realize however, is that this same scripture also says, “but to think soberly as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Meaning, I also shouldn’t think lowly of myself. We are told all the time how we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Each of us is made in God’s image. He knew us before we were in our mother’s womb. But to think soberly means hey, God created you and while you are not better than anyone else, you have to remember that you are just as good no matter what the devil tells you.

The Devil Is a Liar!

I am sure you, like me, have had to fight thoughts from the enemy. You know the ones that say you aren’t good enough to do what God has called you to? The thoughts that try to discourage you from praying for others in public or giving an encouraging word. Steal, Kill and destroy. That is the enemy’s game, and he will start the whole thing by telling you that you aren’t good enough to do whatever God is telling you to do. Don’t let him make you think you will mess everything up. If God has chosen and told you to do something He has already prepared you with all you need to get the job done. Besides, we aren’t doing anything with our power or our strength. It’s all God. We are just a willing vessel.

Esther 4:14, 2 Timothy 1:7, Luke 10:19

**Lord, thank You for reminding me that You have chosen me for such a time as this and when You say go it’s because You know what You have given me. I ask that you place a boldness inside of me to do the work you have called me to do. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
