Watch Your Mouth

Watch Your Mouth

Proverbs 18:21 New King James Version

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

It Matters

What we say matters. When we say things about our state of mind, our circumstances, our health or anything we are either giving credit to the enemy or we are trusting God.

Choosing to speak positively during a difficult time is not ignoring the truth of your circumstances. We go through things that are just plain hard. We have times during our lives where our health may not be so great. Maybe our relationships are suffering for one reason or another. It could even be that people we love are going through difficult times and it’s greatly affecting us because of how much we care for them.

Your Words Change Things

Regardless of the circumstances, how you talk about them can change how you view and feel about them. God’s word says that life and death are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. Meaning yes, things may be bad right now, but how is giving every detail of what’s wrong going to help change things for the better? We don’t realize we are listing all of the ways the enemy has been able to bring us down when we do that. However, we can say “Things are still kind of rough right now, BUT I know God is working.” That small, simple statement made out of belief can make all the difference.

Make A Choice

We are going to have hard times in this life. There is no way around that. No matter who you are or what you believe there will be hard times. The difference lies in how you view them. The Bible says as a man thinks in his heart so is he. If you truly believe that God is working behind the scenes no matter what things look like, then speak it! Tell others that you are trusting God to work things out even if they don’t look and feel great at the moment.

If we  are to believe and have faith then how we speak should reflect that.

Proverbs 18:21 New King James Version

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

**Lord thank You for reminding me that my words have so much power! Next time I am tempted to list off things that glorify the enemy, remind me to speak positive, life giving words about others and situations. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
