What Will You Do?

Will You Do It?

1 Samuel 15:22-28 New King James Version

22 So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of [a]witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” 24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.” 26 But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.” 27 And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 28 So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

What Is It?

What is God telling you to do? Is He telling you to pray at a specific time each day? Wake up earlier to spend time with Him. Is He telling you to help or reach out to someone? There is no limit to the things that the Lord might ask us to do. It is our job to promptly obey whatever it is that He asks of us.

Excuses

We have a long list of reasons we don’t do what we feel God is pulling us to do. Maybe we are too tired or too busy with work or our children. It could be that we hesitate to long and wind up talking ourselves out of it. Whatever excuse we give is not sufficient. It could be that we just push that voice to the back of our mind and ignore it all together because we just don’t want to do what He is leading us to do.

When God asks us to do something more often than not we will not know or understand the reason. A lot of times it won’t make any sense to us at all. There is no substitute for what God requires of us. If He says kneel in your prayer closet and spend 3 minutes with me each morning at 5 am, laying in bed and praying because we are too lazy to get up isn’t a replacement. Sure you got up early, but you didn’t do what He said. That goes for anything.

Will You?

Maybe He’s asking you to do something bigger than waking up early and praying in a specific place. Whatever it is He has not only made the way, but He has provided all you need to do what He has asked you to do.

Will you be obedient today?

Luke 6:46, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 1:19

**Lord thank You for reminding me that there is no excuse and no substitute for doing what You have asked of me. Please help me to meet all of Your requests with prompt obedience. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
