Your Friends Matter

Luke 5:18-19

18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. 19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

Different Kinds

We have different types of friends, don’t we? We have friends we can shop with. The ones we can talk on the phone with about all kinds of stuff. The friends we can work and do activities with, but then there are the friends we call on when things get hard. Those are the friends who will stand up, or kneel down actually, and fight for you. 

Use Discernment

It’s important to pray for God to give you discernment where friends are concerned because there are times when some come in as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They are sent by the enemy to steal, kill and destroy. Pay attention to what’s happening when they are around. Don’t be fooled! 

Be The Friend You Want

God’s word says that to have friends you must first be friendly. Do you want those praying friends? Do you want to have those people, or that person, you can count on no matter what to ring the prayer bells of Heaven for you? Then start by being that person. You may have to be that person for many people who won’t be that for you. Be consistent no matter what and God will send you who you need, right when you need them. 

Proverbs 18:24, Matthew 7:15, Galatians 6:2

**Lord thank You for the gift of discernment. I ask for the wisdom to use it properly. Thank You for allowing me to be a friend to others and for sending me people who will stand in the gap and pray for me when I need it. You always know what we need exactly when we need it. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
